Announcing the 2023 Summer Lunch and Enrichment Program

Kids need healthy food and healthy activities during the summer months. LCSC offers the program for Lakewood school students in grades K-5 who qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year. Because of COVID-19, we were unable to offer this wonderful free program, but thanks to the generous support from Healthy Lakewood Foundation, it will return for two sessions this summer.

Come on down to the Cove Community Center on Tuesday, March 7 at 2:00pm to learn how to make dumplings from Chef Kiwi Wongpeng. Chef Kiwi is the owner of Thai Thai and was named the best Thai restaurant in Cleveland from 2018 to 2022 by Cleveland Scene.

Come to Á La Cart on Tuesday, February 7th at 2 pm at Cove Community Center and meet Chef Rachelle Murphy, who Cleveland Magazine calls one of Cleveland’s hottest young chefs. You’ll get a tasting and a recipe card to take home to add to your collection. If you missed any of our previous demos, you can watch them on Cox Community Channel 45 at 4 pm on Tuesdays.

Healthy Lakewood Foundation Grant Announcement

We are thrilled to be bringing back this free program for children enrolled in Lakewood schools in grades K-5 who qualify for free and reduced-cost meals. LCSC has received a Community Grant in the amount of $39,000 from the Healthy Lakewood Foundation to support the return of our Summer Lunch and Enrichment Program beginning in June 2023.
