Youth Programs

We are delighted with the response to our Summer Lunch and Enrichment Program. We hope you will register next year!

About the Program

Kids need healthy food and healthy activities during the summer months. LCSC offers this free program to Lakewood school students entering grades K-5 who qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year.

Kids have opportunities to participate in bowling at Mahall’s 20 Lanes, swim lessons at Madison Pool, library time at the Lakewood Public Library Madison Branch, two field trips in each session, lots of outdoor play at Madison Park, and crafts and games on rainy days.

Beyond the activities, delicious lunches prepared by Lakewood’s own Karen King Catering are provided. The menus include fresh fruit and fresh veggies every day. Who knew eating healthy could be so yummy?

The program is run by five LCSC summer staff members; additional adult chaperones participate in the field trips. Field trip transportation is provided by Willo Transportation whose drivers are certified by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Flyers with instructions to register will be sent to all Lakewood elementary schools in April 2025. Information will also be included in emails from the Lakewood Board of Education.

This is a first come first served program and the 70 slots fill quickly. Make sure to get your child(ren) registered online as early as possible!

We are excited to welcome your kids!
